In 1960, R. J. “Bob” Lee opened The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo on Route 66, the “Mother Road”. It’s distinctive architecture soon became recognized across America as a good stopping place for great steaks grilled over an open flame. His sons, and our friends, Bobby and Danny Lee have done an outstanding job of preserving this piece of Route 66 history and serve up from scratch – REAL GOOD FOOD. I highly recommend that our Doves Rest guests experience either a lunch or dinner during their stay with us.
